An Update from Peacebuilders – Peace Direct

Date:

Local initiatives are crucial to peace in Sudan.

Sudanese peacebuilders are among the last remaining lifelines for communities facing violence, famine, and displacement. At Adeela, we are calling for more advocacy with governments and donors to continue funding local peacebuilding in Sudan.

We urge the international community to provide rapid, flexible funding that will help local peacebuilders respond directly to urgent community needs. Governments need to build direct partnerships with local organisations like ours and fund community-driven initiatives which reach Sudanese people.

Supporting local peacebuilders in Sudan has never been more important! And you can help: By amplifying the voices of Sudanese peacebuilders like us to build a mass movement that believes peace is possible in Sudan.

Take action

The aid cuts are not just a financial setback for Adeela; they are a lifeline being pulled away from communities in need. Thousands of families have lost access to food, protection, and urgent support ,  at the very moment they need it most.

Together with Peace Direct, we are calling on governments and donors to act now, with rapid, flexible funding that allows local organisations to respond directly to urgent needs. Every delay costs lives. Every act of solidarity restores hope.
