Co-written by Dodo Moke, Head of Environmental and Social Safeguards and Conflict Sensitivity at the African Wildlife Foundation, and Magali Nare, PeaceNexus associate, this article retraces an exchange between actors from the humanitarian and conservation sectors around conflict-sensitive practices.
The article shows how a tool originally developed by our former partner OCADES Caritas Burkina for humanitarian interventions designed to engage communities on social cohesion and conflict sensitivity in northern Burkina Faso, has since inspired cross-sectoral innovation in the conservation sector in the Democratic Republic of Congo and Cameroon.
In contexts where technical concepts and language barriers often create distance, this visual tool helps bridge divides and foster dialogue among actors facing tensions.
