September 29, 2026 The curren acting Director of the U.N. World Food Program, Carl Skau, spoke about the Sudan, Somalia, Gaza, the increase in food prices and lack of sufficient funding during an interview last night on the Public Broadcast Service’s (PBS) Newshour, available online at:

He spoke of famine-like conditions in Afghanistan, El Fasher Sudan, and the importance of feeding hungry children. He explained that hunger and food insecurity can lead to rebellion and conflict.
He was interviewed following the annual UN General Assembly meetings by PBS’s Nick Schifrin.
