Breaking Silos for Resilient Communities

Date:

As we strive to mitigate the effects of the climate crisis, adaptation is imperative. Yet, progress remains too slow, adaptation finance is lacking, and the efforts of most stakeholders are often siloed. During the United Nations technical climate talks in Bonn, delegations will prepare for the Climate Conference in Azerbaijan this December (COP29), and nine years after the Paris Agreement, Member States are on the verge of negotiating indicators for the Global Goal on Adaptation (GGA). Climate-resilient WASH, food and nutrition security, and health impacts are at the top of GGA’s targets. The time for action is now.

Join our event where we showcase evidence emphasizing the impact of climate change on global food and nutrition security, access to WASH and health. We advocate for an integrated approach to break down silos, recognizing that resilience to climate change can only be achieved through comprehensive strategies. We seek to foster collaboration, discuss common barriers and drivers for change. Together we will reflect on political developments, and join forces to support locally led adaptation, adequate financing, and confront the complex challenges at their intersection. Our common objective: healthy communities that are less vulnerable and more resilient to climate effects.
