Brussels, 14 January 2026. Alliance2015, a strategic and operational network of seven European international NGOs engaged in humanitarian and development action, is pleased to announce a change in its leadership at the beginning of 2026.

Mathias Mogge, Secretary General and Chief Executive Officer of Welthungerhilfe (WHH), will assume the presidency of Alliance2015, succeeding Marie-Pierre Caley, Chief Executive Officer of ACTED, who has served as President for the past three years. In addition, Denis Haveaux has been appointed as the new Director of Alliance2015. He brings extensive leadership experience from East Africa and Central Asia, as well as from his previous role as Director of the Red Cross EU Office in Brussels.

On the occasion of his election, Mathias Mogge stated: “Multilateral European cooperation is an indispensable key to global justice and sustainable development. As a community of values, Europe carries a particular responsibility – not only in delivering humanitarian assistance on the ground, but also in working together for dignified living conditions, sustainable development, and policies that leave no one behind. In my new role, I aim to further strengthen Alliance2015 as a driving force for innovative cooperation – as a network that builds bridges, shares knowledge, and works hand in hand with its partners to deliver effective responses to today’s most pressing global challenges.”

Alliance2015 operates as an agile platform, engaging in partnerships of different types and at multiple levels, with its member organisations as the first partnership of choice. The network’s collective outreach spans more than 80 countries, working with over 1,500 local partners and investing more than EUR 1 billion annually towards the shared vision of a world free from poverty and hunger, injustice and inequality.

Alliance2015’s members – ACTED (France), Ayuda en Acción (Spain), CESVI (Italy), Concern Worldwide (Ireland), HELVETAS (Switzerland), People in Need (Czech Republic), and Welthungerhilfe (Germany) – combine strong expertise in food and nutrition security, climate change adaptation, community resilience-building, humanitarian response, and disaster risk reduction. Together, they bring deep understanding of local realities, context-specific expertise, and the ability to connect local action with global resources and policy processes.

As a multi-sectoral network, Alliance2015 pools services, resources, knowledge, tools, infrastructure, and advocacy efforts to strengthen cooperation and collective impact. Together, Alliance2015’s members are more than the sum of their parts.
