The National Civic Registry falls under the authority of the Electoral Court (see Sección II, Capítulo II, Artículo 12° of Law 7.690 of the National Civic Registry). It is used to produce the electoral roll continuously. Changes to one’s civic credentials can be made in person at the departmental electoral offices (source).
