Cities engaging youth as co-creators in climate action

Date:

This year’s International Youth Day, themed “Local youth actions for the SDGs and beyond,” highlights the vital role of young people in building a more inclusive, sustainable world. It also recognizes the importance of local and regional governments to empower them through inclusive policies and participation.

To mark the occasion, this edition spotlights how ICLEI Members are working with youth to advance inclusive climate action. We’re also proud to launch Youth Voices, our new guest op-ed and blog series amplifying youth perspectives. In addition, we feature three ways youth are influencing local food systems and introduce a new toolkit to support local governments in co-creating Nature-based Solutions with young people.
