Earth Day Investigation (PK-5) | Teaching Channel

Date:

First celebrated on April 22, 1970, Earth Day has grown into a global event that brings together over one billion people to celebrate nature and take action to protect the planet for future generations.

We can thank Earth Day for inspiring the creation of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and groundbreaking legislation such as the Clean Air Act and Clean Water Act; all aimed at keeping our environment healthy and safe.

This NGSS-aligned lesson plan (Pre-K through 5th grade) gives students the opportunity to become Earth stewards, express their creativity, and make real, meaningful changes within their school community.

Guide your students as they explore their environmental passions and take action to create a more sustainable, Earth-friendly school!
