Graduation Cap Template (Free Printables)

Date:

Graduation season is here and it’s time for even the youngest graduates to walk across the stage, receive their diplomas, and toss those caps in the air! Designing their own graduate caps is a great way to end the year for pre-kinder, kindergarten, and even 5th grade graduates. This free printable graduation cap is flexible and easy to print, cut, and decorate.

Printing the cap is just the beginning. Here’s how to turn this graduation cap into a memento of the year:

  • Create one-of-a-kind mortarboards: Give students time to decorate their mortarboards with favorite memories, quotes, or images from the year.
  • Before and after: Ask parents to send in photos of each graduate when they were younger and post these photos next to their current school pictures. Even pre-K graduates have dramatic beginning and end photos that show how much they’ve grown.
  • Signed mortarboards: Pass the mortarboards around for students to autograph, creating a yearbook-style memory.
  • School colors: Focus students’ creativity by having them decorate their mortarboards in the school colors, or if you have school houses, in their house colors.
  • Matching diplomas: Use our editable diploma template to create your diplomas, and decorate the mortarboards to match.

Why Host a Graduation?

It may seem silly to host a graduation for elementary schoolers, but having an end-of-year celebration reminds students that they have completed something important. It’s also your chance to share how proud you are of your students and what they’ve accomplished.

What You’ll Get With the Graduation Cap Printable

The printable bundle includes two pieces, the mortarboard and hat, which you can print on white or colored card stock.
