Introducing the Inaugural Swipe Out Hunger Student Leadership and Advisory Council (SLAAC)

Date:

Swipe Out Hunger is thrilled to launch its new Student Leadership and Advisory Council (SLAAC), a cohort of 15 college student leaders representing 15 campuses and 11 states. During a season of organizational strategic planning, SLAAC represents the collective student voice leading Swipe’s mission to end college student hunger.

“I’m really excited to bring student voices and experiences to Swipe Out Hunger with this new council. Coming from a background in college student support and development, I know these 15 outstanding students will bring energy, insights, and creativity to Swipe’s work to end college student hunger,” said Sage McCoy, Programs & Partnerships Manager at Swipe Out Hunger. “We fully believe that students are the experts in their experiences, and I’m so excited to see what we learn and accomplish this year with SLAAC.”

Cohort members will meet regularly from November 2023 to April 2024 to exchange ideas and assess Swipe’s current resources and programs while engaging in opportunities for professional development and community building. The council will be led by Programs Intern Melody Luo, current undergraduate student at University of Pennsylvania with support from Sage McCoy.

Congratulations and thank you to these 15 student leaders for their outstanding work in their communities and dedication to the mission and values of Swipe Out Hunger.
