Joseph learns to speak again

Date:

Joseph was ten when he left.
Not because he wanted to, but because staying meant something worse.
He had already lost his parents. The people who were supposed to care for him didn’t.
So he left.
The street doesn’t ask questions.
It doesn’t explain anything.
It just teaches you quickly:
how to stay quiet
how to stay alert
how to survive
For a long time, Joseph didn’t speak much.
Not because he had nothing to say, but because there wasn’t space to say it.
Years later, someone asked him a different kind of question.
Not “What happened to you?” But “What do you want to become?”
He didn’t know how to answer at first.
That shift didn’t happen all at once.
It happened in small, repeated moments:
Sitting down.
Trying again.
Finding his voice.
Today, Joseph leads other young people—many who have lived the same story he did.
He reminds them: where you start doesn’t decide where you end.
The bracelets you see here come from that same kind of rhythm.
Bead by bead.
Pattern by pattern.
Something built slowly, with intention.
What you wear is small.
But it carries something real, the idea that even after everything shifts, something can still be made, something can still move forward.
