Maplewood Middle School Welcomes Students Back for First Day of Classes

Date:

Excitement filled the air Tuesday, September 2, 2025, as students returned to Maplewood Middle School in Menasha, Wisconsin, for the first day of school. Parents, teachers, and administrators came together to mark the beginning of a new academic year.

Teachers Lead the Way

Sixth grade teacher Alex Hoell guided her students through the halls, helping them settle into classrooms. Fifth grade teacher Sarah Foss decorated her room with a welcoming message, while eighth grade teacher Lizzie Van Dyke directed students to their new learning spaces.

Students Settle In

From checking lockers to exploring the gymnasium, students used the day to get acclimated to their school environment. Many gathered outside before entering, chatting with friends and shaking off first-day nerves before heading to class.

Leadership and Support

Principal Bill Schmolinske greeted students and families warmly at the entrance. His presence reassured parents and gave students a sense of belonging as they began the year. Staff members moved through the halls, guiding students and ensuring a smooth start.

A New Beginning

For Maplewood Middle School, the first day of classes symbolized more than schedules and supplies. It marked the start of fresh opportunities for learning, growth, and community building. Students, teachers, and families left with optimism for the year ahead.
