Mobility that works for everyone

Date:

What if mobility were a right? In this issue, we highlight how ICLEI supports cities in delivering sustainable, people-centered mobility systems that are safe, accessible, and zero-emission. Discover how cities are embedding equity into urban mobility and explore ICLEI’s new framework on “Mobility as a Right.”

This week, we are on the ground with our largest-ever delegation at Climate Week NYC (21-28 Sept). This includes ICLEI President Mayor Katrin Stjernfeldt Jammeh, and ICLEI Vice Presidents State Secretary Marjorie Kauffmann and Mayor Mohamed Sefiani, who are engaging in several high-level events to elevate the voice of cities and regions in the lead-up to COP30.

From uneven sidewalks and distant bus stops to unsafe, costly rides, mobility gaps are an everyday reality. Explore how cities in the Malmö Commitment, ICLEI’s global network on prioritizing equity in sustainable development, are removing barriers with equity-led, people-centered approaches that make moving safer and easier for all.
