A first-of-its-kind radio station dedicated to showcasing the work of people with disabilities is making its debut.
DMFRadio began streaming this week and will exclusively air the “music, stories and creative vision of artists with disabilities,” according to Daniel’s Music Foundation, a New York City nonprofit that provides music programs for people with disabilities, which is behind the new effort.
The station will air 24-hours a day throughout the year with “human-curated” programming featuring a variety of genres and connecting listeners with over 500 new and established artists from around the world, the foundation said.

Musicians will be included if they have publicly self-identified as having a disability. That means well-known performers like Billy Joel and Jewel as well as emerging artists.
“DMFRadio is about discovery, giving listeners a dedicated platform to explore the positive, thought-provoking songs and stories of artists with disabilities, in the hope of encouraging listeners to reflect on differences,” said Ken Trush, cofounder and managing director of Daniel’s Music Foundation.
The foundation noted that over 106,000 tracks per day were released to streaming services in 2025 and said that DMFRadio is intended to give musicians with disabilities who have traditionally been underrepresented a chance to stand out.
“Too often, music discovery leads us back to the same artists and the same kinds of songs,” said Vance Padmore who’s leading the new radio station. “DMFRadio offers another path. We want someone to hear an artist for the first time, connect with their music, learn the story behind it, and keep coming back for more. These artists deserve to be recognized for their craft.”
