May 11, 2025 [Boulder, Colorado] – River Network is thrilled to enter its next chapter with new Executive Director, Stacy Cachules, at the helm. Her first day will be Monday, June 8, 2026, and she will be working primarily from her home office in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Cachules is a passionate advocate for creating strong and well-resourced conservation organizations. Throughout her career, she has been drawn to the organizational infrastructure and relationships that allow environmental advocates to do their best work. Most recently serving as Chief Operating Officer at Central Indiana Land Trust, she guided the organization through significant growth over 15 years. Prior to the Land Trust, she spent six years with Forterra (formerly Cascade Land Conservancy), one of Washington State’s largest land conservation organizations.
“I am honored and excited to join River Network at this pivotal moment for water conservation and equity,” says Cachules. “I’ve spent more than two decades supporting conservation organizations, and I’m excited to bring that experience to River Network’s work strengthening and supporting this incredible network of water leaders and advocates nationwide.”
Cachules expertise in fundraising and relationship building will be a tremendous asset as the national network of river and water advocates continues to expand.
“I could not be happier that someone with Stacy’s experience, passion, and leadership qualities will guide River Network through its next chapter,” says River Network Board Chair, John Weiss. “The Board of Directors looks forward to providing Stacy and her team with the support they need to deliver lasting impact.”
River Network looks forward to the future with Cachules leading the organization, building on its longstanding dedication to the health of rivers and waters across the United States and the communities that depend on them.
River Network extends its deepest gratitude to Interim CEO, April Ingle, whose dedication and leadership guided the organization throughout this transition period. River Network also wishes to thank its staff and board, who stepped up with extraordinary resolve to keep the work moving forward. To Stacy, staff, board, and the broader network who helped carry River Network through this period: thank you. Together, we move toward a future of abundant clean water where people and nature thrive.
