Swipe Out Hunger’s 2025 Impact Highlights – Swipe Out Hunger

Date:

Behind every number in our FY 2025 Impact Report is a student whose life was touched, a campus partner who stepped up, and a supporter who believed in change. This year, the Swipe Out Hunger community showed resilience, creativity, and dedication in tackling college student hunger—proving that when we come together, we can make a real difference.

Our Town Hall, Meeting the Moment, captured the spirit of 2025. During the session, our team highlighted the year’s achievements, including:

  • 891 Campus Partners: Our campus network keeps growing- proof that leaders nationwide are making progress and seeking support in their efforts to meet student basic needs. With an average of 100 campuses partnering with each year, 2025 marked real progress in ensuring more accurate representation of MSIs and HBCUs in our network. Every new partner means more students supported, more voices amplified, and more momentum behind this movement.
  • $64,094 in In-Kind Donations: We also celebrated the impactful In-Kind partnerships we made this year, enabling the distribution of refrigerators, period products and more. With nearly 40% of our network relying on donations as their primary funding source, these contributions are game-changing—building capacity for food security programs and ensuring students get the support they deserve.
  • $5.9 Million in Hunger Free Campus (HFC) Funding: In a challenging political climate, our Advocacy team has worked hard to protect progress. This year we celebrated several refunded HFC bills, including $2.5 Million in Minnesota and $1.2 in New Jersey, keeping crucial resources for campuses.
  • 68% of Student Leaders Remained Involved in Advocacy. In addition to maintaining progress, Swipe also celebrated three new HFC campaigns, in Georgia, Virginia and West Virginia. Student leaders were the driving force behind these campaigns; gathering support, sharing their stories, and connecting with legislators. Their commitment and courage are a testament to the strength of this movement—and a sign of the growing student power shaping campus hunger policy.

As we celebrate these accomplishments, we also look forward to the work ahead. Ending student hunger is a movement that grows stronger when we act together.

You can be a part of the impact in the year ahead. Sign up for our newsletter to stay connected to student stories, new campaigns, and the progress we’ll make together.
