Training on Strategic Thinking and Scenario Planning for NGOs

Date:

On April 4, 2025, PeaceNexus held a training session for partner NGOs, including the Child Rights Defenders’ League Public Foundation, PPAW “Mutakalim, and “Peace Clubs” Public Foundation, at its office in Bishkek. The event aimed to develop practical skills in strategic thinking and scenario planning in the context of instability and uncertainty.

Participants learned the methodology of scenario planning, which helps anticipate potential crises and turn risks into opportunities for growth. During the training, participants worked on creating various development scenarios for their organizations, including both worst-case and best-case scenarios. They also explored how to adapt their strategies in conditions of limited resources and uncertainty.

A special focus was given to an exercise on creating scenario matrices, which helped participants identify specific actions to respond to potential future changes. Group work and exchange of experiences between organizations were key elements of the training. Participants noted that the training not only enhanced their strategic planning skills but also strengthened solidarity among NGOs facing similar challenges.
