Launch of the 2025 Global Hunger Index

Date:

This year marks the 20th edition of the Global Hunger Index—a milestone reached at a time of rising alarm about global food security.

Conflicts, climate shocks, economic pressures, and growing inequalities continue to drive hunger, while global engagement and resources are falling short. Yet hunger is not inevitable. Where sound policies, effective governance, and strong commitment align, progress is possible.

The urgency to achieve SDG 2: Zero Hunger has never been greater—with just five years remaining to meet this goal. At this moment of profound crisis, one simple truth remains: no one should ever go hungry. We must recommit to this goal with renewed determination.

20 Years of Tracking Progress: Time to Recommit to Zero Hunger

Welthungerhilfe (WHH), Concern Worldwide, and the Institute for International Law of Peace and Armed Conflict (IFHV) invite you to join the global online launch of the 2025 Global Hunger Index. Engage with leading experts and policymakers in a panel discussion on how collective action and sustained investment can drive meaningful progress—overcoming hunger and securing the right to adequate food for all.
