Middle East Conflict Update From Israel

Date:

March 5, 2026

You’ve seen the headlines.

Our teams across the region remain ready, mobilizing every resource to respond when needed. Even under extreme conditions, their commitment does not waver.

Today, I want you to hear from Maya, our Country Director in Israel. Despite being confined under severe movement restrictions, she continues to do everything possible to support our teams and ensure they are ready to respond when it is safe.

In this short video, she shares what communities are experiencing right now — the uncertainty, the rising tensions, and how quickly normal life can change.

We have checked in with all of our teams across Lebanon, Israel, Palestine, Syria, and Iraq.

They are safe.

But the region is on edge.

From Monika, our Country Director covering Syria and Lebanon:

Syria has closed its airports. Border crossings remain open under heavy security.
Beirut airport is operating limited flights.
Field visits have been cancelled this week as a precaution.
One of the biggest concerns is access to cash — for both programs and everyday families.

Across the Gulf, schools — from primary to university — are moving online. Businesses are extending hours to prevent panic buying. Some Gulf governments are openly considering military action if escalation continues.

This is a major shift in regional dynamics.

Families are bracing. Governments are recalculating. Markets are reacting.

And yet — humanitarian needs continue to rise.

Your gift can:

  • Resupply frontline teams before shortages deepen;
  • Support children and vulnerable families with food, water, hygiene kits, and blankets;
  • Establish safe spaces or temporary shelters for displaced or at-risk communities;
  • Offer basic health services to mothers and newborns;
  • Provide psychosocial support to people in need; and
  • Keep open the fragile channels that can limit wider escalation.

Escalation can widen quickly.

But early intervention still matters.

We are working to secure $200,000 in immediate stabilization funding to ensure our teams are equipped to respond as conditions deteriorate.

If you are in a position to help, this is the moment.

The crisis isn’t waiting.

Stand with Maya, Monika, and our teams across the region.
