Quiz: Which Kind of Happiness Do You Rely On Most?

Date:

Few concepts in social psychology are harder to define than “happiness.” Researchers have many different strategies for assessing well-being, and each survey feels animated by its own idea about what “happiness” means. So to capture just a bit of that complexity, we designed a quiz in partnership with David Almeida, a professor of human development and family studies at Pennsylvania State University, and Susan Charles, a professor of psychological science at the University of California, Irvine. “Happiness” might be undefinable, but think of this quiz as a tool to help you assess what it looks like in your own life — and to figure out which kind of well-being you tend to value most.
